Everyday Malayalam Conversations for Beginners
Practise useful Malayalam dialogues for introductions, home, shopping, travel and daily conversations with pronunciation.
Real dialogues help you learn how Malayalam sentences connect. Instead of memorising a single phrase, practise a short question and answer pair so you are prepared to continue the conversation.
Read each line aloud in both roles. Then change the name, place, time or object to create a new conversation that fits your life.
What you need to know
Greeting
നമസ്കാരം (namaskaaram) is a respectful hello. സുഖമാണോ? (sukhamaano?) asks How are you? and സുഖമാണ് (sukhamaanu) means I am fine.
Introductions
എന്റെ പേര്… (ente peru…) means My name is…, and നിങ്ങൾ എവിടെ നിന്നാണ്? asks Where are you from?
Clarifying
ഒന്നുകൂടി പറയാമോ? (onnukoodi parayaamo?) means Could you say that again? and പതുക്കെ പറയാമോ? means Could you speak slowly?
Useful Malayalam examples
Read each sentence aloud. Use the pronunciation as a bridge, then return to the Malayalam script as you become familiar with it.
